Goats

I also raise Angora and Navajo-Angora goats. Their fiber, called Mohair, can be spun into beautiful yarn.

Gus is our handsome Navajo-Angora buck. He will be the sire of this spring's kids.

This is a wall hanging that is almost finished. The weft for this woven piece is Mohair from our goat, Prince. Prince was shorn by me and then his fiber was washed, dyed, carded, spun and woven by me.

This is hand dyed Mohair, solar dyed a deep red. Note that even after washing and dying many of the locks remain. Mohair is also naturally shiny and has a deep luster.
